When the mould is developed, a casting simulation is always performed first before the mould is actually made. This involves simulating the casting process with a special computer program based on a 3D file for the product and mould.
Below is an example of such a simulation of a high-pressure casting mould. The flow within the mold is checked here. As a result, the deaeration of the mold can be checked in advance and air inclusions can be detected. The position of the vents can also be determined very precisely. If necessary, the mold design is adjusted accordingly.
